Tracey Marx

Tracey is the creator of Scripture Echo. Her life since 1998 has been intricately woven together with this emerging ministry, and the continually evolving form and format of the Echo readings and recordings.

She feels profound gratitude for those who have served as Scripture Echo collaborators.

VISION
Tracey feels called to creative faith expression, especially through writing; and to encouraging creative faith expression in others, especially in the realm of worship and spiritual formation.

MINISTRY
Tracey spends as much time as she can as the writer, editor, and creative director of Scripture Echo. She also currently serves as a spiritual director and retreat leader, and is available on a limited basis for guest preaching and teaching. She has been the Adjunct Instructor of New Testament Greek at Lancaster Theological Seminary since 1998. Tracey also works part-time as a consultant for the Parish Resource Center in Lancaster, PA, with a particular focus on the areas of worship and spiritual formation.

BACKGROUND
Tracey is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., and received her Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1991. She received a B.A. in Religion from Duke University in 1988, and a certificate of completion of the Program in Christian Spiritual Guidance from the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in 2003.

She has worked in pastoral and programmatic ministry within the local church, and is grateful to the following congregations in Lancaster County, PA for their encouragement and support of her journey in ministry through the years: Bethany, Highland, Wayside and First Presbyterian Churches, and the Leola United Methodist Church.

Prior to ministry in the church, Tracey was honored to work at Friendship Community, in Lancaster, a residential community serving adults with developmental disabilities, and also with the Oncology Recreation Therapy program of the Duke University Medical Center.

INTERESTS
Tracey enjoys poetry, journaling, gardening, hiking, baking and making soup in the crock pot. She also loves to read novels, watch movies and take very long walks. More than all of these, and even more than writing and creating, she loves being a mom to two delightful kids. Her husband Dale is an artist and web designer (www.marxart.com).
